My personalized Memoji is gone -- is there a way to restore it?

My Memoji disappeared and I never had to do a hard reset. I noticed it was gone suddenly after an automatic update. Not happy!

I’m pretty sure this is when my Memoji disappeared, after I recently updated to the latest iOS on my iPhone X it simply vanished. I haven’t had to do any hard resets or purposely deleted it. To have automatic back ups that don’t save something so personal seems strange also.

Also happened to me but knew I hadn’t purposely deleted it. Tried to find a way to restore to no avail. ☹️ Remembered I’d done a hard reset days ago because another app was acting up. On a hunch, I created a new quick personalized Memoji, did the hard reset (up volume, down volume, hold down right button until Apple logo), & sure enough the personalized Memoji face sticker disappeared. What the what? 😳 As many times as hard resets are performed due to phone glitches, seems like Apple would work this kink out. I’m not gonna bother taking the time to create that perfect face sticker if it can be wiped out this easily. Fail, Apple... fail! 🤬 LMK if anyone else tries the hard reset & loses their personalized Memoji. Maybe if enough people complain, they’ll fix it, & I’ll trust them again to bother with it. 😕

Had the same problem, but under slightly different circumstances and with a very strange side-effect. Update to a new carrier on an iPhone (6s I think). After the update, the personalized Memoji on that phone was gone --- AND --- it appeared on an iPad (unwanted I might add...). What in the world?

Me too! I decided to power off my iPhone X yesterday as I thought I hadn’t done this in a long time and it might do the phone some good, and now I noticed my personalised Memeoji’s are gone! Very frustrating, hope there’s a fix to this.

‘Me too’ doesn’t cover it, this is a small thing which is a massive annoyance... that trust word, that you can no longer trust Apple to just make things happen consistently well.

Sort this stuff out... start acting like a $2tn company.

I found out, that my Iphone demanded to log in with my Apple ID and logged all my personalized Memoji/Animojis(maybe another Security).

Please Check your settings. After I logged in to my Apple ID my Memojis came back.

I did this same thing just the other day when my microphone stopped working. Soon as it was back, the Memoji was gone. Super annoying

I’m having the same issue with my iPad Pro. Very frustrating. Hoping Apple will find a fix.

I don’t remember having to do a Hard Restart, but I did Shutdown witching the last week. I didn’t have my new, recreated personal Memoji a week and now it is gone too!
