FTP client

I have an App (Tapes) that appears to be not updated since 2014. My audio voice recording are still playable through the phone app. Back when the app was still supported you could easily transfer the recordings to Apple's quick time player to play the .CAF file. I have tried to figure out how to transfer these from phone it a MP3 (if thats the best way to save them?) When I previously looked into this, I was told that the product included the ability to sync via FTP. (Which now macOS no longer includes FTP functionality) Each audio recording has an individual server address... (one looks like this: http://192.168.0.7:8020). Anyone have any idea how someone like me who is not overly "agile" with these types of things, can get these audio files from the app into a safe place to save them? Thanks!

I would abandon ftp—it may worked well with your old app and there maybe a replacement

using a third party app to replace your old "App (Tapes)." You will just have to search google and the App Store.

It seems to me getting out from under proprietary .caf files would be the bigger question:

google "convert .caf files to mp3" for many options. ex.

Convert CAF to MP3 (Online & Free) — Convertio

As long as you are not stuck with .CAF files...

stay in the Apple environment.

Verify your ftp client is up to date.

Check your client>Preferences for options.
