Apple Watch Series 2 wont let me pair it and doesn't install update

I was trying to pair my Apple Watch Series 2 and it said I had to update its software to pair. I went ahead and the update wont install and keeps saying "3 hour remaining". My internet connection is working fast. My watch is fully charged and plugged in. My phone has more than 50% battery. Any help?

Apple Watch won't pair/update Reset my Apple Watch Series 5 and it won't connect when trying to pair. It needs to update but when I try it says can't update because not connected to the internet on my phone. I've tried everything nothing will work.

Depending on what your updating to, it may take time. Just be patient.

Do 1.3GB take that long? I'm trying to install watchOS 5.3.6

It can. Remember, it’s being downloaded to your iPhone, passed on to the Watch, then installed.
