Mic issue on Windows 10 bootcamp

Anyone on Windows 10 bootcamp experiencing mic issues after using applications like Zoom or Microsoft Team after 30 minutes? My Macbook Pro 2019 (Catalina/Win10) always have issues with the mic, it gets really distorted / sound disturbance, after 25 to 30 minutes of usage.

When I plug in a USB C AKG earphone with mic, it doesn't have the same problem, but I need to choose - either use the mic or use the earphone for sound - can't use both as there's always an error message stating "not enough USB controller".

No amount of driver updates or bootcamp repair will help.

Anyone can help on this issue?

As this seemed to be an issue with the internal Microphone I decided to try and external mic instead. I got a decent USB one (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004MF39YS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1) which worked straight away with no software install on Windows/Bootcamp and it seems to have solved my issues - no more horrible Dalek sounds :-) . A cheaper USB mic may work too but I was just glad to sort this issue as it's been causing me problems for 6+ months now.

Surely there's a better option than dumping my $3500 MBP and using a PC instead.

Yes, using the Mac versions of these, instead of the Windows side, due to driver issues.

I have yet to find a PC that works as good as the Mac for software development. If I had a choice I'd be using the Mac side exclusively but it is what it is.

Another option on the table is to use Virtualization, and pass your Audio connections through macOS to Windows, instead of using the native Windows drivers.

Exact same problem here. Happens in Teams or Zoom, after about 20 or 30 minutes.

Do you use the Mac versions of either?

People on the calls start saying I sound like a robot. Hanging up and rejoining immediately fixes the problem. Have tried restarting, updating all drivers, elevating laptop to increase ventilation/spraying out exhaust ports to remove dust, moving off of wireless and onto a wired ethernet port, nothing seems to make a difference. Right now I am forced to use two Macs side by side - my regular one for work, and an older one beside it that I just use for Teams video chats. Very frustrating.

The issue is the Windows Audio Driver, provided by Apple. You can create a Feedback report at https://feedbackassistant.apple.com .

update to the most resent IOS after that you can restart

download a free windows 10 from Microsoft

open bootcamp and locate the windows 10 file.

select the amount of space for you partition and install

after you will need to get a windows 10 key they are pretty cheap so use google or eBay.

after that reformat the space you partitioned and follow the install process

Any advice/article on the virtualization approach?

There are three Virtualization engine products

Also, there is WiNE (https://wiki.winehq.org/Wine_User's_Guide)

Each of them has their own setup guide. You should follow an appropriate guide.

Nope all of my work happens on the Windows/Bootcamp side of things,

don't really use the Mac partition on my work PC.

If that is the case, you may want to consider a PC. The other possible workaround is to use a mobile phone to join the audio, and use the laptop for screen sharing.

This happens to all newer MBP with their new "Apple" microphone and speakers. My Retina MBP with "Cirrus Logic" microphone and speakers works Flawlessly. This happens to all apps like Skype, Zoom, Teams, etc. on Bootcamp where the other party hears echos. It really should be driver/software issue and hopefully Apple FIXES this issue. I have $3000 MBP sitting next to 2012 Retina doing nothing....
