Typically slowdown in VM is unrelated disk space. It is primarily the shared resources like CPU and IO for macOS and the Guest (Windows).

Nope all of my work happens on the Windows/Bootcamp side of things, don't really use the Mac partition on my work PC.

I am using the internal mic. No headphones, Bluetooth etc... Is this an issue on the 2020 MacBook Pro also ?

The issue should also be present on 2020 Macs.

No problems with either Teams or Zoom on the Mac side for me. Always happens, like clockwork in Windows 10.

Seems like there will be no correction in the near future as Apple will not initially support windows on the 2020 Mac. Brought my 2019 MacBook Pro back and got a like new 2017 15”

Any advice/article on the virtualization approach?

Exact same problem here. Happens in Teams or Zoom, after about 20 or 30 minutes. People on the calls start saying I sound like a robot. Hanging up and rejoining immediately fixes the problem. Have tried restarting, updating all drivers, elevating laptop to increase ventilation/spraying out exhaust ports to remove dust, moving off of wireless and onto a wired ethernet port, nothing seems to make a difference. Right now I am forced to use two Macs side by side - my regular one for work, and an older one beside it that I just use for Teams video chats. Very frustrating.

I have MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) (121GB) and installed Windows 10 through Virtual Box, but when I run Windows it is extremely slow. I tried download Windows 10 through BC, but for some reason I was never able to complete the download as it says installation failed.. removing partitions. I have 70GB empty space at the moment in my Mac.

Bootcamp/Windows will provide 'native' performance subject to 'thermal throttling'. VMs will share resources between Host and Guest OS(es). VMs are generally not used for any heavy-duty GPU or CPU/IO intensive workloads. They also exact a price from the battery life of the Mac.

Excellent! Apple Silicon may heap even more misery on Bootcamp/Windows. 😉

I’ve tried those options but found using them unproductive and ultimately slowing expensive in general. I recommend installing windows using bootcamp.
