Ipod wont sync

I've got 160GB iPod Classic.

I've plugged it into my PC, it connects, starts to sync, then stops after a few seconds and just shows as connected. Its not a memory issue as it shows 37.29 GB of free space.

How can I get my iPod to sync?

Can someone help me please?
