iCloud Drive Not Syncing, Files Missing

Let me rephrase someone's post uploaded in 2018 because I have exactly the same issue, but no Time capsule or back up!

My Mac Pro (maOS Catalina 10.15) isn't syncing iCloud Drive correctly. My iPhone does. I tried to fix this by turning iCloud Drive off and on again on my Mac, but panicked when all the files in my Desktop and Documents folders disappeared. I restored the Desktop and Documents folders from iCloud Drive, but so many files are missing because Mac and iCloud Drive never synced.

Any clue? Any help anyone?!

Greetings, stefgal.

I see that you turned off Desktop and Documents on your Mac Pro on macOS Catalina. It wasn't syncing to iCloud Drive like your iPhone has been. The problem is, you're missing a long of files, and I'm glad to help with this.

Add your Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive -- Check Finder on your Mac and see what's still located in iCloud Drive. You'll find them on the iCloud section on the sidebar.  If you're not finding them there, check the Files application on your iPhone. You can also sign into iCloud Drive on iCloud.com to see where the documents are. Be sure to check the Recently Deleted folder in the lower right-hand corner as well.

Take care.
