Unable to make purchases in Pokémon GO

When attempting to purchase Pokécoins in Pokémon Go app, I receive the following error message: “something went wrong. Please try again later.” I have rest my phone, ensured no restrictions are enabled, changed my Pokémon Go password, and turned on/off my WiFi. Still the error message persists.

OMG OMG I turned off Apple Cash and it worked - You were right!!! Except in my case, Apple Pay is still on, but Apple Cash is off.


First, I removed my bank account from Apple Cash, and removed PayPal from the payment methods for iTunes, and only left the Apple Credit card in the wallet and iTunes, and then I shut off Apple Cash.


Then I tried to make a purchase in the PoGo shop and it worked!!


I think the bank account definitely has something to do with it, because today my bank literally SHUT OFF my debit card without even asking me if the $1.00 purchase for the PoGo ticket was fraud. They just shut it off. And I got a push notification on my phone that the debit card was no longer available for making purchases. And the debit card was tied to Apple Cash. OMG this Apple payment system is SO MESSED UP.


BUT IT WORKED!!!

FIXED MINE!!


My brother & I both play pogo and use the same apple id to make purchases. 3 gastly event ticket purchases made and none received on either accounts. 1 was a pending charge while 2 were a successful charge. I refunded the pending and it didn't fix it. I just refunded the other 2 event charges and it fixed it.


I was also able to make purchases on my pogo account by installing pogo on a separate device and making a new apple id. But now my original apple id is fixed.

The same thing happened to me, and I managed to find a solution for my case. This is iPhone and Apple-specific.


I made a purchase for the $0.99 Community Day Special Research at the Pokemon Go shop. I haven't made any Apple purchases for some time, and this purchase seemed to have some problems and I got an error, but the special research was still given to me. After that, every time I try to get anything from the Pokemon Go Shop, even if it is a free item like the daily free box, I get that terrible spinning wheel which never returns until I am forced to quit the app. I tried resetting the network, uninstalling and reinstalling the Pokemon Go app, switching my iPhone on and off, and resetting the network, but nothing worked. I tried logging in to another account on the same phone and got the same error. Then, I tried using an old iPhone and everything worked fine, so I figure the problem is specific to my iPhone. I looked at my iPhone payment (Settings/Apple ID/Payment & Shipping) and saw that my payment method was declined. I updated my payment methods to try add money to my account (Settings/Apple ID/Media & Purchases/Add Money to Account) but payment was still declined. So, I contacted Apple Support and they fixed something at their end, and was told to wait 24 hours before trying again. That worked! The next day, I was able to add money to my account, so I tried the Pokemon Go shop again. This time, it went through with no issues, and that spinning ball disappeared.
