Hello,

I have an iMac with macOS Mojave (version 10.14.6) and recently (approx 7 days ago) finally updated my iMovie software to version 10.1.14. I was resisting this move, since they claimed to be no longer supporting the iMovie library, but was hoping the upgrade would be more advantageous than what I was losing.

Nope.

Now I can no longer share my movies to a File, Youtube, Vimeo, etc.

I do not get an error message (as I have seen others mention in other threads), it just perpetually remains at 0% progress (an empty completion circle icon) saying:

“Exporting [description of video]

Writing [title of video].mov"

Not sure what to do, but very concerned as this is work-related.

Very much appreciate any help you can provide, as soon as time permits.

Thank you very much, be well and stay safe.

Hi, sphota,

Try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and

selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a

new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if

you can share out

You could also try booting up in Safe Mode (see Finder menu for

instructions) and, after everything loads, immediately shut down and reboot in

normal mode. Then see if iMovie works properly.

If the above doesn't help, try redownloading iMovie. To update/redownload

iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash,

but do not empty the trash. Sign in to the app store and open your purchases

folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You

will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update

iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the

trash and return it to the Applications folder.
