Front Camera not working following IOS 13.4 update

I'm using an iPhone 7 Plus and after i updated the os to 13.4.1 my front camera works perfectly fine on the app but on 3rd party apps (facebook,messenger,insta,snapchat, etc.) rear camera works but when I flip it to front the app would freeze. I did the restart, relaunch, reset settings, reinstall apps, but none of it fixed the problem. I even did a DFU restore but still no luck.

Just wondering if anyone knows a fix for this or if I’m just going to have to put up with it until the next update?

I had this happen, front camera working in Camera but not it Facetime, Zoom etc. I broke the front camera while replacing the screen (easy to do on a clumsy day) and the replacement camera was not a genuine Apple part ( bought it on Amazon).

I’ve now changed the camera for one from a more reputable supplier and everything is working.

What iOS are you running? I don’t believe that’s my case because I’m almost 100% sure that I have Apple camera. Plus, everything worked fine before the update. Unless you are saying that you have this iOS. This thread is about 13.4, but the phone I was talking about is on 13.7

I fixed this by changing the front camera twice. The first replacement from a well known internet seller of everything had the same issue and they refunded me. After phoning round to check I found a supplier with a fully compatible camera and that fixed it.

Facetime and Zoom worked immediately but WhatsApp had to be deleted and after a hard restart, reinstalled.

It is easy to damage the camera cable when replacing the screen which is why many iPhone 7 s have got non-OEM cameras and lots of these are not 100% compatible with IOS after 13.5.

Have you had a screen replaced? It is very easy to damage the front camera when doing that.

In my case it wasn't Apple's fault it was the makers of the replacement cameras who were not doing a thorough job.

So, contacted apple support, they ran remote tests on phone, and front camera is not being detected, phone has to be sent to support to repair or replaced.

so sad :s
