Please Help Troubleshoot/Solve Difficulty Recording in Keynote

I used to be able to record slideshows with no trouble. But now, I have 2 challenges:

1) After I click the record button at the bottom of the record screen, it counts down, then a popup appears saying, "Cannot use built-in microphone." This appears even if I try to use a USB mic. Both mics work elsewhere.

2) Animations aren't working during recording. Bullets are set to appear "on click," and it works when previewing or when rehearsing. But, when recording, it just skips to the next slide without the bullets appearing.
