Back up SIM card and iPhone to transfer everything from old iPhone to new iPhone

To transfer everything from my old iPhone to my new iPhone;

  1. Do I have to back up my SIM card and iPhone?
  2. Then do I transfer my SIM card to my new iPhone?
  3. Then do I turn on my new iPhone to start transferring everything over?

Your SIM doesn't contain any data on it. All data is on your old iPhone
