Insert photo from photos into a word document on my MacBook Air

How to Insert photo from photos into a word document on my MacBook Air . Please make it simple. I tried to click and drag photos and drag photos but doesn’t work. And when searched read about it, it does not give direct answers. Any help would be appreciated

The following works for me with the current version of Word (16.36).


Word > Insert menu > Pictures > Photo Browser. Select the photo in the Photo Browser and drag it into the Word document.


Another method that works for me is to open the Photos app, select a photo, use the Edit menu Copy command, Paste in Word.
