iphone 11 paint chipping

yup you should have heard about the iPhone 7 paint chipping and I can DEFINITELY say it’s a very big issue. It happen on my fiends iPhone 7 and now my NEW iphone 11 . I feel very disappointed I handled it with utmost care. paint chipping started with the anodised aluminium near the camera lens then it increased and increased and even spread to other parts of my iPhone such as the charging port and also the SIM card tray and many spots on the side. It’s very disappointing as I had a case on it all the time and it has only been 4 months since I bought it . I have even went to a authorised repair centre and they said it’s cosmetic issue but it’s still a issue which I am very sure not caused by me and it was problem caused by Apple so I am very disappointed a expensive phone from a well know company sells phones with this issue and says is cosmetic and caused by wear and tear by the user but it I am 100 percent sure it was not caused by me. The white spots keep on increasing, but for apple it’s only a cosmetic issue. But for me its a big issue I keep my phone very safe as I worked very hard for it as I used all my savings on it

is there any way I can fix this issue and if you also have this issue plz share this thanks:)

yes. I also mine also a lot of chips around the camera lens. I called Apple they say it’s a cosmetic issue, I went to a authorised repair shop they also say cosmetic . I am very angry about this but I Guess there is nothing I can do about it. I have been buying Apple products Since the first iPhone and now I am going to change to Samsung because Apple is becoming worse and worse. I wasted so much of my time visiting repair centres, calling Apple, texting and emailing them but they won’t do any thing about it.

It seems the camera ring is not anodized...its just painted....it hurts....mine too has started showing a small white spot on the camera ring and it irritates me every time i look at it...its just a month and i am taking care of my phone like a baby...case and screenguard from the moment i bought it...i even dont keep it on rough surfaces...once when the phone was in my jeans pocket....i took out and saw a white spot out of nowhere...quality control at Apple seems compromised...my feeling of a brand new phone just diminished in a second

and when I contacted apple they just said its some sort of wear and tear like seriously do you know how expensive this phone is and wear and tear starts happening just after 4 months

i hd an iphone 6 before this and nothing ever happened to it it still looks new

is this what we should now expect from apple

My iPhone 8 did it all around the lightning port. I was shocked because I never thought it was a paint coating on these phones, I always thought the metal was coloured in some way. Have just upgraded to the XS so am hoping it's not the same on that! So many issues in the last few years with these phones, and even more iOS issues, when Apple was always just fantastic in my opinion.

Hi joymweein, it is also happening to my iPhone 11 red. The camera frame tends to fade off its color and a silver type of aluminum frame forms. I had a fat case which was protecting the whole phone and I took care of my phone but it still happened. Well it didn’t happen to my SIM card or charging port, but it only happens to my camera frame. And I think it’s only for the red color because my friend has the green color and I don’t see any problem with it, I hope apple finds a solution to it and communicates with all stores on how to fix it! Thanks for bringing the problem up

Unfortunately this isnt an isolated issue with just the red color. My black iPhone XR started chipping around the camera after 3 weeks of use and is currently getting worse. I have a genuine Apple silicone case, which is covering the camera ring just fine, and yet it keeps chipping. I’m currently waiting for a protective ring from China, so I could cover this ugly defect. Apple needs to take responsibility for their lowered quality standards, otherwise a class-action might be on the way, just like the battery fiasco with the 6 and 6s series. So disappointing.

It's also happened to my gold 11 pro. At first I thought it's a spot and I should have to clean it with wipes. But I can't get into it. It's really disappointing, it's just 3 months after I purchased the phone. I'm sure I do really take care of my phone, since it's precious for me. How could this things happen, you guys better to fix the issue of colors, so this issue will not come up again.

I am facing a similar issue with my iphone se 2020 product red. Its 3 months old and has been in spigen case from day one. Recently I noticed that the red color is chipping around the camera ring. Its really disappointing as I really take good care of my phone.

Although it doesnot effect the functionality but whenever i look at it, i kind of feel bad for it.

Ay! Same deal. I have SE 2nd Gen too. I don’t really have any options other than not to use the phone at all to prevent the chipping then feeling bad when you see the white speck on the aluminum that you knew you never caused. So I guess the best action to me is just don't mind it as long as you didn't actually drop or scratched it and just be mindful when buying a new iPhone to never choose any other color aside from white.

And personally I wont give a fork anymore and just run naked without a case while still taking good care to never accidentally bump, drop, scratch, or scrape any parts of my phone while using it, peace ✌️.

I have problem with color peeling much worse. I have captured video of it and call anyone who want to buy iPhone not do it, because as I expected this problem is existed starting from iPhone 5 and still not solved

I have used from the first day my iPhone in case and that day when color peeled off, I simply talked by phone after I released my finger paint was on my big finger. There wasn't anything that can scratch it, only skin of my finger, but suddenly phone for 1100$ has so poor quality of painting which is frustrating. Now I can't even sell it for good price, no one want to buy iPhone which 25% of surface paint peeled off 😞
