Need to disable command + /- on mac desktop its messing with my icons!!!

I need help with something thats driving me absolutely crazy. I don't know why but mac made the command key + or - aka zoom in/zoom out shortcut work on the desktop changing the icon size. Whenever I'm working in adobe photoshop and I accidently use the command when I'm not actually clicked in the app it messes with my icons making them bigger and smaller and changing the custom arrangement I have set up. Any mac experts out there know how to disable the desktop command shortcut so it doesn't conflict with photoshop. You don't know how many times I've accidently zoomed my desktop icons super big and had to re organize after.

You can't disable the hot-keys as Apple does not give you access to them anywhere, but you can however manually set your own hotkeys with the same keys to do something else and it will give them priority.

#How to fix:

Tap the apple icon () in the top left of your screen and tap system preference, navigate back to the first-most menu if needed so that you can see a list of all preferences, then tap 'keyboard' (alternatively just tap the magnifying glass at the top right (search) and type `keyboard pref` and it should bring up keyboard system preferences option.)

On the keyboard system preferences screen select "shortcuts" on the top tab bar of the panel.

On the left side sub-panel select `App Shortcuts`

On the right side sub-panel, at the bottom tap `+` to add a new shortcut.

Select `Finder` for the application for your shortcut. Type `Show Clipboard` for Menu Title (must type exactly), and for keyboard shortcut press cmd-, hit save.

Now repeat this, select finder, this time type `New Smart Folder` for Menu Title, and press cmd= for keyboard shortcut. Hit save.

Now in finder (and on desktop) when you press cmd- or cmd+ you will, instead of zooming, either create a new smart folder (just delete it) or bring up your clipboard window (just dismiss it). EZ-PZ
