Can't Mount New LaCie drive - Mac OS Catalina, Late 2013 MacBook Pro (Retina)

I got a new LaCie external drive so I could run TimeMachine and backup my 6+ year old MacBook Pro so I can transfer my backup to my brand new MacBook Air. For some reason, when I try to do anything in Disk Utility, I get an error such as com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930868. I see it's formatted for MS-DOS but it won't let me erase it, won't let me reformat it, won't let me run first aid, etc.

The disk doesn't show up anywhere except in Disk Utility and it's shaded out. See attached screen shot. Can anyone offer any advice?

Connected via the included USB-3 (mac end) to USB-C (drive end).

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.15
