missing files

I want to start by saying that i had spend the last 3 days trying every single solution i could find all over the web and still cant solve my problem.

I was ussing my iMac for the first time in like a month.. everything was fine, i was checking "All my files" looking for some pictures, i saw i had a LOT of .txt files generated by a Keyforge Tournament program, so i erase all of them...

Then i needed to plug in my Mbox, wich need to restar the computer to work.

And then... at least 3/4 of my files gone missing... pictures, garageband, photoshop, .bin files... the list is huge. also my home screen went to default

I tried to fix the drive (cmd+r option on startup), checked the home user tag, checked if there was a program eating all the cpu% on activity monitor, tried many other thins already forgot...

What am i doing wrong? Can anyone help me?

Thanks

This is a different problem than your original one, but delete these files & restart...

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.epson.esua.launcher.plist

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.epson.ecrp.launcher.plist

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.CSConfigDotMacCert-***@***-SharedServices.Agent.plist

~ tilde indicates hidden Home Library.

Apple hid the Users' Library folders...

Method 1:

  1. From the Finder, select the Go menu at top of the screen, and choose Go to Folder.
  2. In the window that opens, enter ~/Library, and click Go.

Ill see what can i do... but i live in Argentina... most business are not working because of the quarantine. Tech items became very expensive in the last 4 years (i got my iMac back on the day when there were affordable), and on top of that our custom service for shipping from others countries is very tight, we can not get any type of hardware here.

Is there is ANY other solution that do not requiere me to buy a new HD will be really appreciated.

Macsales.com and international dealers and distributors. Please try one. OWC Resellers

BTW, I have been to Argentina, lovely county. We went all over from Mt. Fitzroy to Igagzu to to the Patagonia region to Mar del Plata and of course Buenos Aries. Spent 3 weeks there travelling with family members that live there.

I know the costs of Macs there are expensive and support is not good so I understand.
