Is there any way to restore deleted messages on a MacBook pro? I would keep all of my messages on my laptop and delta them on my phone but now whenever I delete my phone messages it also deletes it from my MacBook. thanks

It sounds as if you have enabled iCloud Syncing for Messages. If that's the case, deleted messages are not part of your back up. Once deleted, they are gone.
You can turn the feature off so that it doesn't happen in the future.
