I have an IPad 5th generation that I got in 2017 and it used to be very good on battery life and I could go three days without charging it but recently if I don’t use it the battery drains. It was on 100% this morning and I didn’t use it for around 7 or 8 hours and now it’s at 46% and even when I do use it, it dies fast. This is a recent problem and just all of a sudden happened, the battery didn’t gradually get bad or anything.

Have you tried a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons?

What IOS version is your iPad 5th gen currently running?
If it is the latest version of iPadOS 13 ( 13.4.1 ) how long ago did you upgrade/update your iPad 5th generation?
Okay I will try it, thank you for the help! I have reset it by pressing the home screen button and power button and it didn’t seem to work so I’ve been looking up ways to trouble shoot it and I have turned off background app refresh, locations for apps that don’t need it, and things like that

This is expected behavior.
It is? Is it because of the age of my IPad?
My IPad is running 13.4.1 and I updated it a little bit after the battery problem started thinking that might’ve been the reason why. I updated it about 3 or 4 weeks ago.
What have your done/tried to improve the battery life of your 5th gen iPad?
In Settings app under the Battery settings, have you checked to see which app/s are using up most of your battery?
