My Apple Watch dictation hasn’t been working for months. I turned off dictation for several minutes and turned it back on. I double checked that Siri is on and in English. I’ve reset and re-paired the watch several times to no avail. Siri works fine on my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. Does anyone have a different solution that works? I feel like the updates have broken my dictation, and I want it back and want it to work as expected. Thanks in advance.

To help verify if this is an issue with the microphone on your Apple Watch, try and record a voice memo from your watch and see if it sounds as expected. This link can help:

You can also check that there isn't any debris covering the microphone. You can use these steps to clean your Apple Watch:
If that doesn’t work, do you have any Bluetooth headsets or speakers paired with your Apple Watch? If so, disconnect those and see if this has any impact on the issue.
Also, make sure Apple Watch and companion iPhone are completely up to date:
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

There was build up in the mic. Thanks for the tip. I’ll be sure to clean out the mic area in addition to my regular cleaning of the watch.
