Unable to use USB Smart Card Reader (by Alcor Micro)

I Have eID smart card reader by Alcor Micro

I can see it getting recognized under System Report:


however Keychain and other smart card software unable to read any certificates


same device works under windows10 (no drivers required)

I don't have that reader, but on Catalina, I don't see the smart card (CAC) in Keychain Access. However, Safari can access the CAC and authenticate sites with it. No idea if this is true for all users/all smart cards.


Also, anything installed to support the card had to be removed under Catalina. Catalina has built-in support for smart cards and any third-party software will interfere with it.
