Airdrop from Mac to iPhone refuses to allow videos of any size/coded

I'm attempting to move a small video file from my macbook to my iphone camera roll for social media upload. When I airdrop it transfers fully then says airdrop failed and suggests I save the video to iCloud Drive (which I don't want to do).

I have tried this several times with different sized files ranging from 100mb to 10gb (I have over 100gb available on my iphone) and with different codecs including, h.264 and apple proress 422 and 422lt. None seem to function right now, though I was able to airdrop from my iPhone to my mac for this post.

Hi wingmanbonanza2,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I see you're having an issue with AirDrop from your Mac to iPhone, and I'd like to help.

Have you restarted your iPhone since noticing this issue? If not, go ahead and do that, as a restart can resolve unusual issues.

Restart your iPhone

If you're still not able to AirDrop that video to your iPhone, can you AirDrop a photo? That can help to isolate if it's the video size or AirDrop not working with your iPhone.

More info on AirDrop: How to use AirDrop on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Take care!
