WIFI issues

I have an iphone 11 and having this wifi issue where my wifi get connected just fine with a strong wifi signal but the internet just doesn't seem to work. It works for 2-3 min after i am connected to the network then again the same issue continues.

As per my observation it started back in January 2020 when i had to change my Router but i didn't change my internet service provider which means my DNS should be the same that was beforehand.

Every other device in my house works flawlessly over the same network including my two personal computers, my smart TV, 5 other android smartphones.

I did already call the apple support and the lady over the phone told me to connect to my wifi nd gave me an IP address to enter on safari after entering the same the apple website opened it nd she said that its a DNS issue with your internet service provider.

She asked me to ask my internet service provider that if they provide multiple DNS.

But when i did check with my ISP they had no clue about DNS nor such issues.

The measures i took:

Changed the wifi DNS to manual address.

Changed DNS on wifi router page.

Rested wifi network settings

Updated iphone to latest firmware

Multiple occasions of router restarts.

Nothing worked.

Everytime i change DNS it works for some time and then same issue starts.

iPhone 11, iOS 13

Hi Royroyal,

That's interesting, and makes me think that your iPhone has no problems. I suspect instead that the settings of your modem-router should be better controlled (or that it does not have the ability to manage too many connections).

If your modem router supports it, I'd also make an attempt to set the connection to 5GHz, to see if that helps.

I leave you this support article and suggest that you do some checks, perhaps getting help from the support team of the manufacturer of your router, or from your Internet provider:--> Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple Support

Please keep me informed.

See the articles for Mac https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT202222

https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201735

https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchlp1698/mac - use google DNS server settings 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 you have to click on apply and save the settings , don't use vpn services , any proxies .

The Mac is connected then go for your iPhone if it is not connecting https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204051

The wifi router settings should be automatic , a password is always created for internet service provider router , make sure the router is not faulted , purchase a new router and install it ( loose connections , incorrect connections , damaged cables are also the cause ) ,you changed the internet service provider definitely the settings will be different than previous ones .

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Actually i missed to mention this

I did connect to other networks but i don't remember exactly if it was working 😅 coz i didn't do it to check the issue nd also i was on the networks for a shorter amount of time and due to the Quarantine i didn't get a chance to chck again.

But i can confirm that it works flawlessly over a mobile hotspot from another device.

Hey Guilio,

I dono how did i missed to mention this.

That at night when all the other devices are disconnected and only my iphone and one other android device and my computer is running on the same network.

The wifi on my iphone works perfectly without any hiccups and this is really wierd.

Like every night only these three devices are connected to my wifi nd the iphone works just fine.

I dont understand why is that so. Do u have any clue?
