How do I get rid of the red circle with a 4 in it on the facetime app on my macbook pro?

My finder has no "go" option. There is a "go" option at the top of my screen. When I open my finder and then click "go" at the top of my screen, I do get a "go to folder" option. when I select "go to folder" I get a box with a field headed by "Go to the folder:" When I paste into that field "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.preferences.com.apple.facetime.plist" into the field, and then click "go," I get "The folder can't be found."

Thanks again. Before I delete stuff from my macbook, I would like to make sure I can get to the facetime screen you are referencing. When I open facetime, whether by clicking on the app at the bottom of my screen or by opening it from within the applications folder I get the following - which has no options, tabs, or anything:

Thanks - I did not notice the top bar changed when I opened face time. I just turned off facetime. Do I need to restart?

I can pull up that ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.facetime.plist, but cannot figure out how to delete it.

I was able to delete the folder. I ran a search for it after deleting and got "the folder cannot be found." After I reboot, the folder is back again.

Thanks. I have no tabs when I open FaceTime (see below). When I select Camera, the only app shown as a choice for my camera is VMware - and I do not want that app having access to my camera. Facetime is not a choice. Might you have any other thoughts?
