How do I get rid of the red circle with a 4 in it on the facetime app on my macbook pro?

How do I get rid of the red circle with a 4 in it on the facetime app on my macbook pro? I have not used facetime at all. I do not have the camera on on my macbook. When I open facetime the box is black except for the notes "No Camera Available" and "To use FaceTime, turn on the camera." If I right click on the app I get three choices: Open, Show Recents, and Options. Clicking "open" reopens the same black box with the two notes described above. Clicking "Show Recents" causes my screens to minimize, and nothing is shown. Clicking on the final choice, "Options," gives me three more choices: "Remove from Dock," and "Open at Login," and "Show in Finder." None provides a way to get rid of the red circle with a 4 in it.

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.15

When your iPhone receives a call without answering it you will get the missed call icon on your Mac's FaceTime app. You have to open FaceTime on your Mac. Click either the VIDEO or AUDIO tab. This tells the app that you acknowledged the call was missed and the red tag will disappear.

There is a "go" option at the top of my screen. I do get a "go to folder" option.

Sorry I borked the path, here it is corrected:

Finder >Go>Go To Folder copy and paste:

 ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.facetime.plist

delete this plist and reboot.

You need to open the FaceTime application

From Your Applications folder launch the the FaceTime.app to turn it off

Thank you for your response. I do not really understand it.

My finder has no "go" option. There is a "go" option at the top of my screen. When I open my finder and then click "go" at the top of my screen, I do get a "go to folder" option. when I select "go to folder" I get a box with a field headed by "Go to the folder:" When I paste into that field "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.preferences.com.apple.facetime.plist" into the field, and then click "go," I get "The folder can't be found."
