I just got a new iPhone 11pro and noticed I got some text messages in my personal gmail account, and then noticed in my wife’s phone that my primary contact was changed to my email. What’s the story with that??
No we don’t. I noticed I received a group text from my boss in my email and then she tried to text me and it wouldn’t go through, and thus noticed my contact was changed in her phone to my email. It seems as though that has occurred with my boss’s phone as well.
It says my phone number. One thing I’m thinking is that I was switching my SIM card back and forth between my new and old phone. Perhaps in those periods it sends stuff to my email thinking I don’t have an active phone. Thanks for your help. Just seems strange.
Do you and your wife share an Apple ID?
Go to Settings/Messages - Send & Receive. What is checked? Mail that goes via iMessage will use whatever is chosen for sending, and all replies to message you send will go to that also.
Ah, with that additional information I think you have found the reason.
