Apple Order claiming to be delivered, whereas the shipping company says otherwise. HELP

I just got a notification on my iPhone saying that my iPad was delivered. I checked the front door, nothing. I then go to 'track package', where it sends me to the FedEx website. It claims that my iPad won't arrive until tomorrow, and that it is currently in Memphis, TN. So who is wrong here? Was this just a mistake on Apple's part? And if it was delivered, as Apple claims, would I have not had to sign for it? I should have to sign for it. Thanks.

I've not seen one get that far ahead, but generally these messages are generated based on standard shipping. So I would say that it is an error on Apple's end. The one to be sure of is the one from the shipping service. The email that you received about your order from Apple should indicate if you need to sign for it, and I'm guessing that you probably do. Most Apple shipments require a signature.
