My iPhone 7 is showing 3 signals and iPhone SE 2nd generation(2020) shows 2 signals when placed at same distance from the router. Could you please advise me how to fix this issue.

Both of your iPhones are going to interpret signal strength (2 vs 3) depending on the construction and algorithm used. Can you do a speed test on both using the same method and see what you get? If the download and upload speeds are similar to both then that is a fair comparison.

Okay. Then I agree the OP should do the “WiFi speed test” on both his/her iPhone and compare the results. If getting issues, OP take iPhone to AASP for diagnostics. Nobody knows if OP bought iPhone SE2 directly from Apple, or Authorized Apple Seller.😳
I really don’t know all this “technical mumbo-jumbo” about “internet algorithm” whatever. But you should really try the internet speed test. But did you try turn to off WiFi on iPhone 7 and vice versa to see if issues of signals improve? If you really concerned about WiFi issues with your new iPhone SE2, then take it to open Apple Store, or Authorized Apple Service Provider to have it checked out.
It really should have said the the signal strength algorithm used and it is not technical mumbo jumbo. It will also be very difficult right now to take it to a n Apple Store unless the OP is in China or South Korea.
The OP really does need to follow the suggestion to check the internet speed of the two devices.

Thanks for your response. I strongly believe its not the problem with the speed of the internet or algorithm to interpret signal strength level.
I put my iPhone 7 and iPhone SE 2020 at same location (same distance from the WiFi router). Sometimes the WiFi connect ion on iPhone SE 2020 shows - Not Connected(unable to access internet) where as my iPhone 7 still constantly shows 2 points (able to access internet).
I’m concerned that my iPhone SE 2020 is 1.5 day old and iPhone 7 is 3.5 years old.

No, an algorithm in this case is software used to analyze and display the signal strength.
Since if was just released Friday it probably would have been difficult not to buy it from Apple or an AAR.
