Where is the directory of launchpad on MAC

I have an icon in Launchpad of an application corrupted. How can remove it ? Where is the directory of launchpad in finder ?

Launchpad Icon - "Install macOS Monterey" - Cannot Remove I successfully updated my 2021 iMac to macOS Monterey. There is an icon that remains in my Launchpad, "Install macOS Monterey" I am unable to get rid of it. I tried long-pressing it, which enters edit mode for Launchpad. There is no "X" showing next to this icon that would allow me to remove it, though. I have been unable to locate the file on my Mac to delete it. I've seen similar posts, but other folks have been able to click the "X" after long-pressing. Has anyone figured out how to remove this when the "X" does not appear?

How to remove dead icons from Launchpad?? (screenshot incl.) The other day without me realizing it, this known malware program name "Top Results" was downloaded onto my Mac. For some odd reason (at the time) I couldn't get Malwarebytes to install, so I did a Safe Boot and uninstall Top Results that way. That I know of, it was removed successfully. But when I go to my Launchpad, the blank icon-like (see screenshot) is still there. No matter what I try, I cannot get it removed. To be sure, I re-tried installing Malwarebytes again, this time I got it up and running. But it doesn't find any malware, etc on my Mac -- according to Malwarebytes, my Mac is clean. Is there, or how-to one can remove what seems to be a dead icon? Many thanks in advance! (MacBook Pro mid-2012; macOS Mojave 10.14.6)

How to get rid of "ghost" icons in Launchpad? In MacOS 12.5 (and earlier, dating back to perhaps MacOS 12.1 at least) occasionally after removing an app from Applications, a ghostly icon remains ... which I can't seem to able to remove. These icons (I've accumulated several), look like this: ... still there in Launchpad long after removing the GoToMeeting v10.16.0 app itself from my Mac a year ago.

You don't need to search for Launchpad... just go into > Macintosh HD > Applications and remove the corrupted file(s)
