ipad pro magic keyboard caps lock key

Hi,

I have solved this problem. You need to turn off the function “switch language using caps lock”, then the caps lock will work as usual. Settings >> General >> Keyboard >> Hardware keyboard >> switch language using caps lock (Turn off this function)

There is a setting which lets you use Caps Lock to switch keyboards if you want, some people prefer that to the usual Control plus Space

Regardless of the "globe" button, which not all keyboards have, Apple always provides a setting to you to use capslock to change between certain language keyboards if you want to do that, in both MacOS and iOS. But it is definitely a bug somewhere for this to happen without this setting having been chosen.

I have the same issue with the Magic keyboard for Ipad 11-2020 . I have tried different ways but the capslock does not work and I can not type in capital. there is no available online instruction to how fix it. Please can Apple staff tell it is faulty one?

I have sent in a video of the issue to Apple Support via a Senior Adviser. It’s a bug I think. There is already a globe button At the bottom left which allows us to switch between the diff language keyboards. The capslock shouldnt work this way.

when I received the magic keyboard initially, there wasn’t this issue either.

will await for them to rectify on this.

It will be there if you have a non latin keyboard on your list (Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Hindi, etc)

I wonder if you add a Russian keyboard, and then turn the caps lock feature on and then off, whether it would perhaps restore caps lock to its correct function....

Tapping on it twice doesn’t work for me :(

I’ve check the settings and the caps lock key is supposed to have the caps lock behavior, but it doesn’t :(

I do have multiple keyboards installed, but I dont want to remove them :(

Something wrong if you don't see it as below when you have Chinese, Russian, Japanese, or Greek keyboard on the list in addition to English and the keyboard is connected.

I also have the same issue with you. Really disappointed for this keyboard cost me over nearly $400. I hope it can improve the efficiency of my work, while it is not. I set everything okay, like caps lock for capitalization, while it shows the same thing of globe. I used both Chinese and English. When I type caps lock, it just change the language type, not showing the capitalization it should have.
