ipad pro magic keyboard caps lock key

Hi. I received my Ipad Pro Magic Keyboard the other day. I have yet been able to get the Caps Lock key to work. I have gone into to settings and set that button to Caps Lock with the blue check mark. I then go into my notes app and click on the Caps Lock key and first off the light does not light up. Then i get a pop up small grey rectangle in the middle of the screen that says “English US” and if i press the key again the “English US” changes to “Fonts”. Can anyone help me with this please?

Hey,

I so I had this issue too but I found out how to fix it!

Go to your settings
Go to General
Find keyboard
Go to hardware keyboard
Then turn off the use caps lock to switch languages.

I also have the same issue with you. Really disappointed for this keyboard cost me over nearly $400. I hope it can improve the efficiency of my work, while it is not. I set everything okay, like caps lock for capitalization, while it shows the same thing of globe. I used both Chinese and English. When I type caps lock, it just change the language type, not showing the capitalization it should have.

But in that picture, you have the SWITCH LANGUAGES USING CAPS LOCK turned ON. Why don't you turn it OFF?? Then Caps Lock should make upper case letters.

I just fixed it - when you go to settings/ general/ keyboards I had 3 keyboards (English (US), Emoji and Translate now. I clicked edit in the top right hand corner and deleted that keyboard leaving only English (US) and Emoji and it seems to have worked..

You shouldn’t need to go to hardware keyboard - I just fixed mine by going to settings/ general/ keyboards - I had 3 keyboards (English (US), Emoji and Translate now. Please go to settings > general > keyboard > keyboards and tell us exactly what you have on that list.

Are you using all caps in your posting because you cannot turn Caps Lock off?

Thanks for the reply. Where is that setting? I had set the Caps Lock key to Cap Lock in the settings under General>Keyboard>Hardware Keyboard>Modifier Keys

Here is one that appears when certain keyboards are activated. There may be another place, have to check later..

My husband just fixed that problem. Go General setting—keyboard—hardware keyboard—turn off “Use caps to switch languages”

OK so disregard. I had a Fonts Keyboard and once I removed that the Caps Lock key worked perfectly but what does the Caps Lock key have to do with keyboards?
