Parent Control- Screen time not working for tiktok and Episode APP

Same issue and it’s been going on for a long time. Every update I hope it’s fixed. Select tiktok or another subset of a categorie’s apps and screen time loses the settings overnight, letting the app skip the limit. With the social media category tiktok is the only one I wish to set a time limit on as I don’t want to block the whole category. I haves similar issue with games in the education category, but tiktok is the big issue for me. Surely Apple is aware of this as lots with the same problem and it seems to mean screen time is a bit broken. It makes screen time management pretty much a full time job

Well, I think I figured out the TikTok issue. Go into your child’s TikTok account and change it to a “private account”. As soon as I did that, it recognized the time limit. I changed the TikTok account back to “public” and it was still blocked by screen time.

I am not familiar with the different account types for TikTok, but when I first attempted to change it to a private account, I got a pop up that said it had to be changed to a “personal” account first. I selected ok—it was at that point it immediately gave me the time limit reached message from screen time. My guess…our children have figured out a way to change their account types in TikTok to something that isn’t recognized by screen time…an organizational account or some type of business account?.?.. All I know is whatever my son did cost me two hours of my life that I will never get back! Hope this helps someone!!!

Had the same problem and was able to solve it by

1: tuning off screen time on my child's phone

2: powered down her phone

3: signed her out of family sharing from my phone

4: powered her phone back up and set screen time and family sharing back on her phone

Exact same issue. Won’t grey out when screen time achieved. Other apps do, and all are picked as selections for blocked access. Still Tik Tok and Snapchat.

Well it seems that Apple has no answer for this issue. I agree with others in that what’s the point of “Screen Time” if it doesn’t block the social media apps? Come on Apple, give us an answer!

Did you actually try the steps out? “Digital Well-being” doesn’t show up on my daughter’s account

I’m having the same problem and yes Episode is the only app still available after limits expire. It’s very frustrating.

I do have the same issue, the screen time function doesn’t work with Tick Tock and Snap Chat. I don’t understand why Apple is not addressing this issue that impact a lot of parents.

Same problem. TikTok will not turn off at down time on my oldest daughters iPod but will on my younger daughters iPod. What is the problem with this app?

I just posted the question on Twitter to @apple and @applecare and was contacted by applecare. So I'm working with them now and we'll see if they give me a solution.

Great idea to post the question on Twitter. Let’s hope they have an answer for this soon. It appears that a lot of people are pretty upset about this issue!
