I purchased a MacBook Pro about two months ago. I've noticed that quite often it gets really hot--is this normal? I upgraded from an Air to Pro thinking it would give me more power and capability, but I never had this issue with my Air.
If the overheating is not normal, how would I fix? Thank you!

Use Activity Monitor to see if there are Activities using a high percentage of the CPU.
Okay well then it's perhaps best for you to contact Apple Support. They may have you perform an SMC reset. Keep in mind your Mac is perhaps performing correctly. The 2019 MacBook Pro is more powerful than your Air. Just a quick note, Chrome is a major resource hog and will cause your Mac to get hot and drains battery fast. Please post more information. Age and specs of your Mac? What browser are you using? What softwares are you using when it gets very hot? Are the fans running? Which version of MacOS are you running?
Hi! Here are my specs below. It's a brand new MacBook Pro I bought a couple months ago. I usually use Google Chrome. Fans do run when it gets hot, but it happens all the time--doesn't really matter what programs I am running.
