Ipad (5th gen) screen spontaneous crack

My Ipad (5th gen) was sitting on the table and next thing I noticed a vertical/diagonal crack from left to right. There was no dropping or sitting on it. It has a screen protector film and always in the leather casing. Please see below (ignore the marks on the protector) .

It's 2 years old and out of warranty without any AppleCare extended warranty. There's only Apple Authorized dealer in my location and closed during this Covid 19 outbreak.

What should I do ? Has anybody have this problem? Appreciate your advise. Thanks.

Are you certain that the screen is cracked - or has your screen protector cracked instead?

The OP only had a thin, plastic film screen protector on that iPad.

It looks to me that the actual iPad protective screen glass has cracked.

Hi guys, the glass screen has cracked. The screen protector is only a film not a tempered glass as the iPad sits in the leather casing.

So far no damages in terms of functionality, performance and display image.

My 7th generation did the same. Nothing hit it it just cracked. Ive had it since Dec. Im not happy...

At least you are still under warranty. Did apple repair free of charge for you ?
