I have a 2017 model iMac running os 10.15.3 Catalina and would like to use it in Target Mode with an extra Display. I can only get it to work in Mirror mode at the moment, Is it possible to do this now?

target display mode is not the same thing as connecting an extra monitor to your mac, which are you trying to do?
newer imacs does not support being used as monitor for other macs using target display mode

Hello again, Thanks for your help, it's much appreciated. Your earlier reply got me thinking & looking harder and about five minutes ago I unchecked the "Mirror displays" box and it works beautifully.

I don't catalina but high sierra
when I go to
system preferences->displays->arrangement and uncheck Mirror displays
I have a separate desktop on each monitor

Hi Rudegar, I have a separate Lenovo Monitor that I would like to use in a way that lets me display say different browsers ie 1 window on the iMac and a different browser/program on the Monitor which I assume is Target mode. Thanks, Steve.
