My iPhone X has a product defect.

The product is in prefect condition and has started flipping from screen to screen opening applications and menus in the application. I talked with support did all the resetting and jumping on one foot and product defect still exists. This is the first Apple product that I have bought. Is it common for Apple to not support product problems even when it is clearly a design issue?
