MacBook Air freezes and heats up

I have a MacBook Air 15" that I bought in 2018. I love to play Minecraft on it everyday. It originally handled it fantastically. But now it heats up extensively around the ESC button, and about 10 minutes into my gaming it freezes solid and I have to force shut off for me to be able to unfreeze it. It also freezes when I use Zoom as well. I was wondering if it is something that is wrong with my computer or if its incapable of these things. I restarted it with the Alt+Command+P+R but it still freezes and heats up.

Hi,

Resetting SMC could solve the issue.

If it doesn't help try to run Apple Diagnostics if it reports something.

If they don't help, you'd better contact Apple support or find and taking your MacBook Air to opened Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined it.
