Apple Pencil Odd Behavior

I have recently purchased the new ipad pro and the apple pencil. However, i believe that the pencil is not behaving as it should.. I’m on the latest ios. It connects and pairs just fine but any interactions with the app icons on the home screen or dock, using the pencil, result in a long “haptic” kinda touch. The pop up sub menu appears, if its on safari intead of opening the desired link it show the small preview popup window of that link and i see the sub selection menu: open in a new tab, new window etc etc.. Moreover, i cannot use the double tab function of the pencil in any app!..

My question is that is this a known issue? Can i do anything about it by my own means?? Or did i simply recieved a faulty unit? Many thanks in advance..

What troubleshooting have you tried? User troubleshooting starts out with powering the device off and back on again. If that does not help, a force restart is the next step. Restart iPad - Apple Support After that, you get into the Restore steps and I would rather suggest you reach out to Apple Support before getting into those. They may want you to return the Pencil before doing that. You can also try forgetting the Pencil in Bluetooth and try pairing it again and see if that changes the behavior.
