I am not getting a verification code while adding my phone number to iMessage.

I changed my number and thus want to add it to use as my iMessage but every time I try to add it through my iphone or the apple id webpage I am not getting my verification code. Is there any way to get it?

You need to change the number on your Apple ID. After the change, allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync. Before trying to make the change, sign out of Messages/FaceTime.
