What's this symbol mean?

Hi, a couple of times this week Firefox has crashed my MacBook (completely frozen, it's 1995 all over again... I need to talk to Mozilla) and my attempts to force-quit obviously didn't work because I couldn't move the cursor to the apple menu. And my vaguely remembered keyboard shortcut didn't work. So once I rebooted I checked it, and next to force-quit it has opt-cmd and this symbol:

What is this? There's nothing like it on my (regular) keyboard. I google image searched it but nothing there either. Does it mean I should press opt-cmd and leave the room?

The Escape Key:

That symbol represents the escape key (esc). On a touchbar, you'd see it on the far-left.
