display help connectivity fir dual monitors

I have an old late 2012 aapl imac version 10.14.6 (21.5 inch, late 2012)... I want to use that monitor as a second display... what cords / displays ports would be best to hook up to my macbook pro (MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports). I am already using one connection to a ViewSonic display. Thx!

best option for second display I have to connect a second display to my Mac Studio max, a 27' Eizo 4K. Connected to my Mac Studio there's an Akitio Thunder3 QuadX which has 2 thunderbolt3 ports and 1 DisplayPort 1.2 for a second display. What's the best option between connecting my 2nd display directly to my Mac Studio and to my Akitio? Is DisplayPort preferable over usb-c for displays? Connecting iMac and Macbook Air for dual monitors? What cables etc. would I need to connect an iMac (24 in., M1, 2021) with a Macbook Air (M1, 2020) to have both as monitors? Thanks for your help!

Sorry but you are wasting your time, 21.5" models will not work in Target Display mode. Nope, no work arounds either.

Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support

You will need the Thunderbolt 3 adapter and Thunderbolt cable.

Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Apple

Apple Thunderbolt Cable (2.0 m) - White - Apple

You will need to erase the iMac and install High Sierra (10.13)
