Stop switching Apps/Pages

If I have two differant App's opened at the same time (overlapping each other) & I move one of the App's to close to the edge of the screen I lose that App to a separate screen - how can I stop this from occurring? I want to be able to keep both App's open at the same time on the same screen.

Thank you.

Of course you can have two apps running on the same desktop, you can have more than two.

Open your Mission Control app it is in the Applications folder. see if other Desktops have been set.

Move your cursor to the top of your screen, so you see the same view as the screenshot below.

If you have two or more Desktops created in Mission Control, then when ever you have an app open and move it too far to the right or left in some cases it will switch over to the adjacent Desktop. I don't think you can stop it doing that. It will not happen if you only have one Desktop set up. You could also see if you can use both apps in Split View Mode, click and hold on the green button top left of the apps windows.

So have you now discovered by opening Mission Control if you are running more than one Desktop.

As you can see from my screenshot I have many Desktops set on my mac.

If you have more than one Desktop set and you want to only have a one Desktop set up

then you can delete the other ones.

Again open Mission Control in your Applications folder move you cursor to the top

of the screen so the Desktop icons are revealed. Now move your cursor over each of the extra Desktops you do

not want and click the little cross, until you only have Desktop 1.

Now with only one Desktop open you can move your apps to the right and they will not spill over and open in a new

Desktop.

Up to now, I did not know anything about Mission Control.

As far as I know I have always had just one Desktop. I am able to have several windows/App's opened at the same time, but I lose a window/App when it gets to close to left or right edges.

Are you saying that I have to keep going to Mission Control to get rid of the additional Desktops or is there a way set set up for just one Desktop permantly, so that I no longer lose App's when moving there windows?
