Some files in iCloud folders refusing to be moved around (to other folders)

In an iCloud folder (KEYNOTE), some files (PDF, Keynote) just won't allow me to move them into any other folder. I try to drag and drop, but once I bring the file into another folder, I see the "circle+crossed line" icon that tells me I'm doing the forbidden. I CAN move some files (also PDF, Keynote), and some I just can't.

It also doesn't seem to matter whether they've been downloaded to my computer or not.

Sharing & permissions are set the same for files I can move and files I can't.

What's going on here? How do I fix these files to make them movable?

Hi Bryancito,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today moving files into new folders. It sounds like you aren't allowed to do this whether or not the files are downloaded to your Mac or not.

Checking the permissions of the file was a good idea and typically the cause of this issue: If you can’t move or copy a file or folder on Mac. Did you check the permissions for the folder where you want the file to go? If you didn't, this could be the cause.

Thanks Bree. I wish that would have solved it. ... Sadly, no. I should have also shared that I've been able to move some files (PDF and KEYNOTE) into this folder (and other test folders I've created), but a group of specific files (PDF and KEYNOTE) simply will not be moved out of the root Keynote folder - despite having same permissions.
