My iPhone keeps signing out of iMessage frequently.

Fairly recently, my iPhone started signing out of iMessage frequently, once a week, at the very least. I have been able to sign back into iMessage multiple times, but it takes so long to sign back in, and if I am to have the hopes of signing in successfully, I'd have to turn off iMessage, turn it back on, and stay on the Settings > Messages screen until iMessage is finally working again. I will also note that I have also tried selecting "Use your Apple ID for iMessage", but it availed me nothing. I would like to know what is causing this problem and how I can fix it. Thank you for your help!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble staying signed in to iMessage. I'd be happy to share information that may help.


Take a look at the steps in this article, and give those a try: If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime.


If you're still experiencing this, please reply with the following details:

-Does being signed out of iMessage occur after you make any changes to your Apple ID account?

-Do you see an error message when this happens?

-When signing in again, are you connected to Wi-Fi or using cellular data?
