upgrade to catalina from mojave

I have macbook pro mid 2012. Couldn't upgrade to catalina from mojave. Got the "the drive has S.M.A.R.T. errors. the disk cannot be repaired."

Updating from Mojave to Catalina I am using a Macbook Pro (Early 2015) running Mojave 10.14.6 and want to update to Catalina, whenever I update I get error "File system verify or repair failed", after digging around I saw that I need to boot into recovery mode and perform First Aid on the disk, however, when doing that, I get "First aid process has failed. If possible back up the data on this volume." Is there anything that can be done here other than replacing the hard drive? Thanks

Install is crucial ssd drive Hi guys, I just installed a new crucial ssd to mac book pro mid 2012. Install from scratch. it only allows me to reinstall mountain lion (very old software). If I do this I can’t update as it gives an error 102. Catalina won’t update as OS X needed updated. its been erased, partitioned to 1, and formatted to Apple journal. crucial mx500 250gb mac book pro mid 2012 help would be great to get up and running again.

Contact Support to have that Mac's hard disk drive replaced.
