Apple music expired 29 days back, renewed today. my playlists on phone don't populate with my music. How to retrieve my all music (800) songs

Apple music expired 29 days back, renewed today.

My playlists on i-phone don't populate with my music.

My old laptop (with i-tunes) had all the songs downloaded too, but it crashed.

How can I retrieve my all music (800+ songs).

If there is no way to retrieve, I am thinking, I would very well cancel the subscription.

Please let me know.

iPhone 6, iOS 12

I just refreshed the itunes account on my new laptop now, and I can see all my music collection and playlists with a download icon next to them.

With syncing my iphone now, I should be able to move all my music to iphone.

So, it seems apple/apple-music is retaining the music collection of previous users for at-least about 29 days.

Not sure if one comes back after a month/few-months, if it would still be available.

Thanks for looking into this.

Hi, Sry. I noticed my response didn't get posted last time.

Thanks for the response. I didn't find the "Sync Library" option under "Settings --> Music" on my iPhone-6.

But anyways from iTunes, I got the music from my iTunes library (all 900+ songs, that got refreshed on my new laptop) , synced and downloaded to my iPhone.

But the sync to my phone didn't happen, unless I turned ON the "iCloud Music Library" option under "Settings --> Music".

I don't remember I had that option ON before my subscription expired, as I knew I wasn't backing up anything to iCloud.

Anyways it works now.

But still, don't know, for how long (couple of months or if longer), that AppleMusic would maintain one's Music Library after the subscription gets expired or not renewed.

Usually once it’s cancelled the music from Apple Music is gone but in some cases a quick renewal will get them back, because your payment is in advance to cover the incoming month.

As to your iCloud music library, ,this was changed to Sync Library some time back, so your phone or computer sounds like it’s doesn’t have a more recent software update.

With Apple Music, the music you’re using from the service will be saved in your iCloud Apple ID, so any changes you make will sync across devices.
