MacBook freezes when using Windows 10 after latest Bootcamp update when connected to external display
Hi there,
I created a new install of Windows 10 using a Bootcamp partition on my 2017 MacBook Pro 15" about a week ago (macOS version is Catalina 10.15.4). It was smooth sailing. I continued using my external display (2009 27" iMac in target display mode over mini DP through a USB-C dongle) as I did on my Mac.
I got a prompt this evening from the Apple Software update app that there were updates to install. From memory there were two updates labelled "Bootcamp Update" and one labelled "Bootcamp Wi-Fi Update."
Unfortunately, immediately after installing the updates and restarting, my MacBook cycled through booting and crashing shortly after reaching the log in screen, when connected to the external display. When the MacBook was not connected to the display it operated normally. The MacBook was connected to a power source every time I used it.
I have attached a screenshot of Windows Event Viewer showing four instances of this "Critical" error. The first incident at 00:41 this morning is unrelated.
Is there anyway I can revert to the display driver the MacBook was using before the Bootcamp update?
