Using same Apple ID for different devices

I am getting a new Ipad soon, should I:

  1. Use the same Apple ID i used for my iPhone
  2. Create a new Apple ID.

What happens if my iPhone and iPad shares the same Apple ID (example: what will be affected?)

My main concern is:

  1. Will the apps in my iPhone be synced to my new iPad? (I don't want that to happen tho)
  2. Will the photos be synced to the new iPad too?

Please let me know how to stop the syncing above ^ if i were to use the same Apple ID.

I have been using Apple products for a long time but still VERY lost and confused with iCloud and APPLE IDs.

You should not usually crate multiple Apple IDs. I use the same Apple ID for all of my devices.

Only the apps that you choose to install on the iPad will be on the iPad, regardless if you use the same Apple ID.

Your photos will only sync if you configure the iPad to sync your photos.

Dah•veed mentions not having two Apple IDs. I basically agree with him. Regardless, here are the implications for you if you create a new Apple ID.

See How to create a new Apple ID https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204316 See the data implications below.

Some of these things will apply to your situation even if you are not changing your Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID or password https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204071

Keep in mind that some things available under a first Apple ID will not be available under a new Apple ID. For example, you won’t be able to transfer anything purchased from the App and iTunes Stores to the new ID. And, there are other issues to be addressed.
