The only option for bio metric log in on a app is facial recognition. The new SE only has the touch pad. I would think both options should be available especially with people wearing mask. My iPhone 8 uses the same app and the app works fine.

If you set up your new iPhone either with Quick Start or a backup of your old phone the settings for that app may no longer be correct. Easiest way to fix it is to delete the app and then download it from the App Store and set it up again. If it still doesn't work properly you will need to contact PNC technical support. They may have to update their app for the new model.

I have none since you haven't stated what the app is and what you have tried.
The new iPhone SE and iPhone 8 only have Touch ID and not Face ID.
If it works on 8 then it should also work on SE.
