How long does mail in applecare repair take? Its been 10 days since I mailed in my ipad pro 12.9 4 gen.

So, my 7 year old niece dropped my brand new ipad pro 12.9 inch 4th generation wifi with cellular 128 gb on the concrete basketball driveway outside and destroyed both the front and back of the device. Since coronavirus apple stores are closed and I needed to open an applecare request and send the device back via UPS to get fixed. So, I did that. I paid the $49 dollar ipad pro full replacement fee since I am an applecare plus member like all my devices and they received and repaired my device on thursday last week, but still its sitting on "your device is repaired" we will let you know when we ship a replacement product. Usually this takes 1 hour inside an apple store, its now been 10 days without my device that i use daily for an essential job. And I am a little frustrated. Anyway know what the normal time frame is on mail in repairs for ipad pros?

OK EVERYONE FINALLY GOT A GREAT ANSWER FOR YOU!

Item was shipped today and will arrive overnight tomorrow via fedex express 1 day. woo hoo!

So, all in all Apple truly only took 6 full business days and those full days included: sending my ipad pro to them, replacing it, and sending it back to me. So, I will have to upgrade my experience to EXEMPLARY customer service and a great deal. 49 dollars to fix a 1300 dollar ipad that my little 7 year old neice destroyed and apple did it in only 1 extra day 6 business days instead of 5 business max days during a pandemic. If I hsce sny problems with unit I will update you all tomorrow but so far so good! thanks everyone! great news! and great job apple!

I agree and affirm all of your statements since my store practices the same routine. But my point is, had I would have known it wouldve taken 2 weeks, I would have decided to choose an alternative repair option, use the functioning broken screen phone temporarily until a quicker solution was offered. The pandamic instructions on the phone from the apple repair tech was this is a very quick process, overnight shipping to us, overnight shipping back to you. Takes usually less than 5 business days from start to finish to get your replacement.

That is all I am saying. if I was given correct advice, during the pandemic I would have held off on sending the device in. You done have to tell me to heed patience, I lost BOTH my healthy and happily married 78 year old aunt and uncle two weeks ago, and my 31 year old best friend 4 days ago to this virus. I have plenty of experience with heeding patience

thanks allan, apologies I thought this was aforum of tech advisors from apple. Its just alittle frustrating because when I sent the device in it said the average time was 5 days including sending and receiving the device, they also said once the device is confirmed received it is an immediate one day overnight mail shipment. I am an essential worker and require this device for my job so I just wasnt expecting a 2 week wait when their support website clearly says 5 days to and from

deggie thank you for being very helpful and polite. But i am not one of those people that want freebies, If it was up to me I would donate the 15 dollar gift card to someone who can really use the money. I was thinking of maybe uprading this to higher tech support and seeing if they will allow me to pay a little money to buy something else with more GB that is in stock.

ps- thanks again

No I think you misinterpreted what I meant , and I am quite appreciative of your ideas by the way, that’s OK that’s why I thanked you multiple times ,just meaning this could take quite a while if it takes a month or so, it wasn’t more so the financial aspect it was just something else to think about for other users in the same situation that many people are going to be in. Since I have a data contract with a cell phone carrier also, It was just a simple question thinking should the user also be paying the data also, many people would be in a similar situation right now, I’m just thinking about all the applications, personally I am not worried about the financial problem right now, I’m just worried about getting the product back in my hand .there are just a lot of different variables involved that maybe I should’ve reconsidered before sending the device in.

I was thinking maybe asking them to pay a little bit more and get an upgraded device with more space or just work something out to get something shipped back faster do you not think that is a good idea?

ps- apologies if I’m a little bit anxious right now like I said, this is been a very tough two weeks for myself and my family, I lost my aunt and my uncle Marilyn and Clifford Soberg from Wheatley Heights New York, I also lost my best friend of 31 years old, all from coronavirus. My best buddy left behind a two-year-old and a three-year-old boy and a girl and a beautiful wife that worked at Stony Brook University Hospital, fatherless. My aunt and my uncle with my last two relatives on the island that were still alive, 78 years old and in perfect health took them two weeks in the hospital of suffering, finally they both died in a coma together in the same hospital room days apart . At good samaritan hospital we’ve been dealing with just one heckuva month. So I do apologize maybe you’re misinterpreting the text to speech from

siri herear. I’m not aggravated I’m not upset, I’m just trying to get alternative ideas here.

Thank you to everyone helping me out with replies here., Once again I hope you know I’m greatly appreciate of of the replies. Please don’t take my jumpy answers as anything more than just being a little bit of anxiety ridden customer right now I’m dealing with a lot of personal family stuff, just hoping to get and apple care plus product repaired and shipped back fast to me. Hopefully I will figure this out then they will get it sorted out over the next couple of days, they didn’t give me any type of ETA on the phone they said just call back in another couple of days for an update. So I guess I’m just gonna keep my fingers crossed on this, and call back in a few days if nothing is shipped I will have to negotiate something as far as getting an upgraded device. But other than that I really Everyone’s replies
