Unable to connect to wifi in iPad 2

Hi guys

I have an old iPad 2 and it connects to the wifi however I cannot access the internet. It says safari cannot open page because it could not establish a secure connection to the server.

I understand this is an ancient device and hasn't been used in a while.

I have tried all the fixes found on the net (resetting network, reboot on iPad, turning wifi off and on again, turning on airplane mode and then off) however nothing seems to work.

I would appreciate it if anyone could help resolve my issue.
