Brand new Series 5

Just taken my brand new series 5 Apple Watch out of the box and it won’t turn on. Have tried hard reset, nothing happens. Tried charging it but only get green lightning bolt on screen for a second and then disappears. Do I return and exchange, or do I try charging it overnight first?

They take up to 2.5 hours to fully charge, please let it charge and then retry. If the problem continues please call AppleCare.
